200 trunks, 200 visionaries exhibition at barney’s new york
To mark the 200th birthday of Louis Vuitton, 200 visionaries of today’s time were asked to reinterpret the iconic LV trunk as a self-portrait of creativity. As the fourth and final leg of this traveling exhibition, the New York stop was the most ambitious with a full takeover of the former Barney’s. Working with Louis Vuitton’s Visual Image Studio, the entire building was transformed into an immersive journey of innovation, craft, and technology. The project entailed a full facade takeover and mechanical window displays, two expansive floors of exhibition space, the revival of the legendary Fred’s restaurant, a studio space for creation and workshops by the Visionaries, a pop-up shop, and a monumental opening celebration.
